Yesterday, the new Minister for Children and Families,
Edward Timpson officially launched the Department for Education’s
‘stocktake’ of the Bailey Review at an Advertising Association event hosted at
Channel 4.
This was the Minister’s first engagement with our sector and we delivered an industry story of engagement and positive action in response to the Bailey Review. This was clearly recognised in the Minister’s comments that he is “firmly of the belief that heavy handed and unnecessary government regulation of the ad industry is to be avoided” …so long as self-regulation can continue to effectively protect children and reassure parents.
