The Advertising Association promotes the rights, roles and responsibilities of advertising. We represent UK advertisers, agencies and brands on behalf of the entire industry, acting as the connection between industry professionals and the politicians and policy-makers.

AA comment on Government student visa proposals

Following the announcement of the Government’s proposals to allow students to remain in the UK for up to two years after the end of their studies, our Chief Executive Stephen Woodford commented:

“We welcome the Government’s proposals for a two-year working visa for international students following completion of their studies. The Advertising Pays 6 report, from the industry’s think tank Credos, demonstrated the UK’s strength in both attracting overseas talent to work here and in British talent going to work and grow their skills in other countries.

“Post-Brexit, ensuring that the best and brightest talent from across the world continues to feel welcome and valued in the UK is vital in maintaining and growing our position as the global hub for our industry – and students are vital to this. Just like the ad industry, our world-class universities attract world-class talent – those who have the skills our industry and our country need in terms of creativity, technology and data analytics. Making sure they remain here longer is good for the UK, good for our industry and good for the economy”
