The Advertising Association promotes the role and rights of responsible advertising and its value to people, society, businesses and the economy. We represent UK advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies on behalf of the entire industry, acting as the connection between industry professionals and the politicians and policy-makers.

A A A

The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around public health, gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital economy and more.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 90 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

LET’S HEAR THOSE LIONS ROAR

We have officially launched our UK Young Lions competition!

As the UK representative for the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, we’re on the hunt for the very best young creative talent to compete on behalf of the UK at the festival against other young advertising professionals from all over the world. If you’re under 30, the Young Lions competitions are one of the best places at the festival to celebrate your creativity on a global stage. We are running 6 competition – Design, Digital, Film, Marketers, Media and Print – and the ICCO is running the PR competition.

Together with our partners – The APA, Channel 4, Clear Channel, The Department for International Trade, The DMA, Framestore, The IPA, London & Partners, M&C Saatchi and Newsworks – we will be flying 12 young people (6 teams of 2 people) to Cannes to compete in June.

Find out more about last year’s winners, the competitions and how to enter here. Registration closes at 6pm on March 9!

BREAKFAST OF CAMPIONS

On 25th February we will be holding an exclusive breakfast event for our Front Foot members, which will be an opportunity to help shape the action plan arising from the latest Credos report – Advertising Pays 8: UK Advertising’s Social Contribution.

We want our members to play a crucial role in deciding how our industry responds to findings that show the public are looking to us to play a greater role in social contribution. The event will begin with a recap on Advertising Pays 8 from Director of Credos, Karen Fraser MBE, followed by a unique workshop where attendees will share ideas on how we can make the most of this call-to-action from the UK public.

If you are a member of our Front Foot Network, we hope you can join us all in the heart of adland at the new VMLY&R headquarters. From out more here and if you’d like to attend please email Sharon.
