The Advertising Association promotes the role and rights of responsible advertising and its value to people, society, businesses and the economy. We represent UK advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies on behalf of the entire industry, acting as the connection between industry professionals and the politicians and policy-makers.

A A A

The Advertising Association focuses on major industry and policy areas that have huge ramifications on UK advertising. This section contains our work around public health, gambling advertising, data and e-privacy, trust, the digital economy and more.

Credos is the advertising industry’s independent think tank. It produces research, evidence and reports into the impact and effectiveness of and public and political response to advertising on behalf of UK advertisers in order to enable the industry to make informed decisions.

Front Foot is our industry’s member network of over 90 businesses across UK advertising. It aims to promote the role of responsible advertising and its value to people, society and the economy through a coalition of senior leaders from advertisers, agencies and media owners.

We run a number of events throughout the year, from our annual LEAD summit to the Media Business Course and regular breakfast briefings for our members. We are also the official UK representative for the world’s biggest festival of creativity – Cannes Lions.

LET’S CONNECT AT RESET

We are now just two weeks away from RESET 2021!

We’ve already told you about the fantastic speakers and stimulating sessions we have planned, but RESET isn’t just about great content – we are creating a unique moment for the whole industry to come together and reconnect.

Our Networking Lounge, home to our partners’ amazing 3D stands, will be the social hub of the event, where you can easily search for people by name and start a chat or invite for a video call. The Lounge will open from 08:00 on the day so attendees are able to arrive early and catch up with their colleagues and industry peers before the content begins.

Check out the many companies who have signed up here, peruse the agenda and book your place alongside over 500 attendees!

IN PUBLIC AFFAIRS NEWS…

On Wednesday we hosted our first Covid-19 call of the year to give members the chance to voice their business concerns to civil servants as businesses grapple with a third national lockdown. Businesses continue to face many of the same concerns of previous lockdowns, such as access to Government support and on-going issues with business rates, office closures and safer working guidelines. The next call will be held on 17 February, 9-10am. If you would like to learn more, please contact Ed.

On another note, back in December, Stephen Woodford was principal speaker alongside journalist Chris Snowdon on a panel session organised by the Adam Smith Institute on HFSS advertising. The session was part of their ‘Scrap the Mad Ad Ban Plan’ campaign focusing on the Government’s plans to ban online advertising for HFSS food and drink. You can now watch the full session here.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE BREXIT DEAL

Whilst there was a collective sigh of relief that the UK and EU agreed a deal on Christmas Eve, thus avoiding a disorderly exit from the Single Market and Customs Union, one thing that is certain is that our trading relationship with the EU has fundamentally changed.

Our very own Konrad Shek has written a piece on our website about what our industry should know about the Brexit deal. Konrad has summaries some key areas which are likely to have an impact on advertising and marketing services such as personal dataflows, digital trade, temporary exports and short-term business visits. You can read the article here.
