Front Foot Breakfast – UK advertising’s social contribution

Events Front Foot

Yesterday we hosted a breakfast event for our Front Foot members at VMLY&R’s offices, on UK advertising’s social contribution, which is the subject of our most recent report – Advertising Pays 8.

The morning was kicked off by our Front Foot Chair Mark Evans, Managing Director for Marketing and Digital at Direct Line Group,  before Karen Boswell, Chief Experience Officer, EMEA at VMLY&R, spoke about VMLY&R’s involvement in Advertising Pays 8. Our very own Karen Fraser MBE, Director of Credos, then gave a presentation on the report as well as an overview of the findings from the research that was conducted as a part of it.

Following these talks, attendees were given a task to complete in groups – to discuss three things that we can do as an industry to improve our overall positive contribution to society and to think of a five point action plan for the advertising industry to respond to the challenges of climate change and sustainability. All the answers are currently being collated and will feed into our work streams, particularly the latter which will be fed into our climate working groups.

It was a brilliant event and was incredibly inspiring to hear about some of the ideas that came out of the workshop at the end of the session . Thanks to all of our Front Foot members who attended and to VMLY&R for hosting!
